Jahnay Bryan
Jahnay Bryan, 23, was last seen on October 16, 2024, near the 2000 block of West 8th Street in Los Angeles. A recent Cornell University student with a promising academic path, she vanished without further contact, and her family reported her missing on November 13 after weeks of silence.
An Ebony Alert was issued on November 19, but only after nearly a week of delays — a gap her family believes may have hindered early search efforts.
Jahnay is described as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5’7″ and weighing about 125 pounds. Her disappearance has been marked by limited communication from investigators, despite several leads shared by her family, including concerns she may have been victimized after going missing.
Loved ones have expressed frustration with the slow response, noting that missing Black women and girls often struggle to receive timely attention from law enforcement and media.
In the months before she disappeared, Jahnay had returned to Pennsylvania after attending Cornell, where she studied chemistry, contributed to academic research, and hosted a podcast centered on authentic conversation.
Her sister, Jahque Bryan‑Gooden, has continued searching tirelessly, organizing flyer distributions and working with the Black and Missing Foundation. She has also shared details about unusual emails Jahnay sent shortly before her disappearance — messages that raised concern but offered no clear direction about where she may have gone.
Despite national coverage from outlets like KTLA, Dateline, and the Los Angeles Times, there have been no confirmed sightings of Jahnay since October 16.
Her family remains deeply worried and continues to push for answers, emphasizing that every day without information widens the gap in understanding what happened to her.
