Deanne Hastings
Deanne Hastings was 35 when she disappeared from Spokane, Washington. She was last seen on November 3, 2015, after returning home from her first day of orientation at Glen Dow Academy and leaving a note saying she was running to the store.
Her boyfriend grew concerned when she didn’t return and tracked her phone to a downtown parking lot near the Knitting Factory. Her car was found locked with her purse and phone inside.
Over the next day, surveillance footage captured Deanne appearing disoriented at a grocery store, and witnesses reported that she asked for help, saying she had been drugged and kidnapped.
Later that afternoon, she was seen walking with two men, Randy Riley and James Root, near a storage facility. They told investigators they spent time with her and eventually left her on the side of the road not far from her home.
In the days that followed, Riley was caught using her credit and EBT cards, though he claimed he found her belongings discarded along the roadside.
Deanne lived with bipolar disorder, and her family believes she may have been in crisis at the time she vanished. Despite extensive searches, interviews, and multiple leads, no confirmed sightings have been reported since that day.
Her case remains open with the Spokane Police Department. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 509‑456‑2233 or the tip line at 509‑242‑TIPS.
