Alyssa McLemore
Alyssa McLemore was twenty one years old in April 2009, balancing life as a young mother while helping care for her dying mom.
On April 9, she told her grandmother she was on her way home after learning her mother’s condition had suddenly worsened, but she never arrived.
Two witnesses later reported seeing her near 30th Avenue South and Kent‑Des Moines Road, where a green 1990s pickup truck approached her. One described the driver as a white man in his 50s or 60s, familiar with Alyssa, and possibly driving a truck with Oregon plates.
The next night at 9:15 p.m., a frantic ten‑second 911 call came from Alyssa’s phone. A woman screamed for help while a man in the background made threats before the line went dead.
Investigators believe the call came from the Kent area, but her phone had no GPS capability and went out of service days later. Alyssa was never heard from again, and her mother died three days after she vanished without seeing her.
Her family describes her as a devoted parent who would never have abandoned her young daughter. Fifteen years later, the case remains unsolved, and authorities say they are no closer to understanding what happened to her.
