Caleb “Corey” Wells was 31 years old when he disappeared on July 2, 2021. A father from Georgia, he was last seen in California after flying there and subsequently missed contact with his family, including on his mother’s birthday on July 16, 2021.
After being dropped off at the Atlanta airport for a trip to California. He arrived in Los Angeles County and checked into a Motel 6 in Rowland Heights with a man he knew from high school. That was the last time anyone can confirm his whereabouts.
In the days that followed, Corey never contacted his family, never returned home to Georgia, and never reached out to his children or his mother — something completely out of character.
About a week later, the man he traveled with resurfaced back in Georgia without him and claimed Corey chose to stay in California. His family immediately knew that didn’t make sense. His mother reported him missing soon after.
No confirmed sightings have been documented since that day. Investigators in Georgia are still working the case, but the trail has been painfully quiet. Corey had been struggling with a relapse before he left, adding another layer of worry for those who love him.
His mother — known affectionately as “Mama Red Bird” — has spent nearly three years waking up to the same unanswered questions, holding on to the last moment she saw her son.
Physical Description: Height/Weight: 5’9″ and approximately 185 lbs. Distinguishing Marks: He has facial tattoos, brown hair, and brown eyes.
