Kayla Decker
Kayla Decker, also known as Berlin Decker, was a 35‑year‑old mother living with Lupus and navigating a marriage marked by violence. She lived at 710 Old Bee Springs Road in Bee Spring, Kentucky, with her husband, Dearl — a man who never reported her missing.
On December 16, 2022, Kayla attended a children’s basketball game in Bowling Green, KY. Two days later, on December 18, she was seen for the last time at a church in Bee Spring. Her phone pinged for the final time at her home that same day. Some community members have said that Kayla and Dearl were living inside the church at the time.
It wasn’t until June 14, 2023 — nearly six months later — that a concerned social worker reported Kayla missing to the Kentucky State Police. When questioned, Dearl claimed she had “left him and went to Texas,” a story that quickly unraveled.
Kayla did not have her vehicle; it had been found abandoned at a Dollar General and impounded long before she was reported missing. Her cane and medication, both essential to her daily life, were left behind.
Neighbors later discovered a pair of Kayla’s blue jeans while digging around their pond. When the pond was drained, investigators recovered a shirt, her purse, and a book.
Dearl claimed he had thrown these items into the pond after she “left.” No proof of life has surfaced since December 2022, and no one has reported seeing or hearing from Kayla since that time.
Kayla was described as 5’6″, 130–150 lbs, with blonde hair, hazel eyes, a large tattoo on her lower stomach, and multiple piercings.
Screenshots of messages describing abuse, photos of bruises, and records of an arrest for strangulation paint a haunting and deeply troubling picture of the months leading up to her disappearance.
