Mara Minott
Update: Officials from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) confirmed that Minott had been located safe in British Columbia, Canada.
Mara Minott, 29, was reported missing on February 8 after her family realized they had not seen or heard from her since November 20, 2025 — the date of her last Facebook post.
Her disappearance was reported to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, and her sister‑in‑law, Cassie Ocean, has been helping share information.
During the investigation, officers learned that Mara had contact with law enforcement in Idaho in late 2025 regarding a traffic matter. Authorities there noted she may have been living out of her beige 2005 Mercury Montego at the time.
Family members say Mara had no known ties to Idaho and no clear reason to travel there, though she may have been selling her artwork from her car. Police do not suspect foul play at this time, but the investigation remains active.
Mara is a Kalamazoo native and holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. Loved ones describe her as an activist, an artist, and someone who has recently focused her work on supporting the homeless community.
She is known for dressing in bright colors and wearing beads and gems in her shoulder‑length black locs. Her family continues to search for answers and hopes someone who has seen her will come forward.
Anyone who has had contact with Mara Minott since November 2025, or who has information about her whereabouts, is urged to contact the KDPS Criminal Investigations Division at (269) 337‑8139.
