Melissa Trumpy
Melissa Trumpy vanished (37 at the time) on October 26, 2021, after traveling from Monticello, Wisconsin, to a residence in Shannon, Illinois. By the next day, her silver 2005 Toyota Camry was found abandoned on a rural road in Stephenson County with her phone and purse still inside.
No confirmed sightings or updates have surfaced since that day, and investigators have since reclassified her disappearance as a homicide. The lack of any contact and the discovery of her abandoned belongings have made the search incredibly painful for her three children.
Melissa was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and boots. She is described as being 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair that has distinctive blue and green highlights.
Even small pieces of information—a remembered sighting of her silver Camry, a conversation someone overheard, or something unusual noticed near Shannon or Pearl City—could help provide direction in her case.
Melissa’s disappearance continues to weigh heavily on her family, and law enforcement is offering a $5,000 reward for information. Community awareness is crucial, especially in cases where the trail has gone cold.
