Sara Ebersole
Case Information:
Sara Ebersole was 26 years old when she vanished from Reddick, Florida, in the early morning hours of March 3, 2023. A mother of one and a resident of Northwest 60th Ave., Sara was a nature lover known for her adventurous spirit and dreams of opening a coastal café.
The investigation was officially initiated after Sara failed to return home or contact her family, which was highly uncharacteristic. Since that date, there has been zero activity on her financial accounts or social media, and she took no personal belongings with her.
Case Details:
The circumstances surrounding Sara’s disappearance began on the evening of March 2, 2023, after she finished work around 7:00 p.m. In her final text messages to her sister, Sara mentioned she was getting into a “random truck with some cowboys,” seeking a ride.
Investigators later confirmed she was seen at a Circle K gas station on North Highway 441 with two unidentified males. From there, she was taken to a nearby residence, where the narrative becomes complicated by conflicting witness accounts and digital anomalies.
Timeline of Events:
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on March 2, surveillance footage captured Sara Ebersole at the Circle K. She was then dropped off at a subdivided residence at 18080 North U.S. Highway 441, where she spent several hours with multiple people.
The timeline reaches a critical point at 4:00 a.m. on March 3, when Sara reportedly left the residence in a blue 2017 Hyundai Sonata. Digital forensics show her phone was used until 2:40 a.m., at which point her search history was deleted & the device was factory reset.
Investigation:
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has named Tyrone Morman as the sole person of interest in the case. While Morman initially claimed he had no contact with Sara that night, witness statements and phone records placed them together at the time of her disappearance.
Morman was arrested in December 2023 for providing false information to law enforcement after claiming he had disposed of his phone. Though the device was eventually recovered, Morman has declined further cooperation, and no charges have been filed directly related to Sara’s whereabouts.
Community Response:
The Reddick and Sarasota communities have rallied behind Sara’s family, led by her sister Michele Tullis. Public awareness has been bolstered by peaceful protests along U.S. Highway 441 and a dedicated billboard campaign funded by local donations.
A unique initiative titled “Toss Shells for Sara” has seen supporters leaving marked seashells in various travel destinations. This movement serves as a tribute to Sara’s love for the ocean and ensures her name continues to travel the world while the search continues.
Family Statements:
Michele Tullis has been a relentless advocate, describing the last three years as a “living nightmare.” She has publicly called for the person of interest to provide the truth. The family refuses to let Sara become just another statistic.
Through tears, Michele shared that Sara was a person who wanted to bring joy to everyone she met. The family continues to hold a seat for her at the dinner table every holiday, maintaining hope that the massive reward increase will finally break the silence.
Physical Appearance:
Sara is described as a Caucasian female, standing 5’1” to 5’2” and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has blue eyes and brown or “dirty blonde” hair, and a distinct tattoo of a Kokopelli fertility deity on her lower right hip.
On the night she vanished, she was wearing either a gray embellished cardigan or a black “Goalie Academy” hoodie. Because of her small stature and the specific details of her clothing, she remains highly recognizable to those who may have seen her that night.
Current Status:
As of early 2026, the investigation into Sara Ebersole’s disappearance remains active and classified as a missing person case with suspicious circumstances. The death of a key witness, James Robinson, in 2024 has created additional hurdles for the cold case team.
A significant breakthrough occurred in late 2025 when an anonymous donor increased the reward to $35,000 for information leading to Sara’s physical location. This remains one of the largest private rewards currently offered for a missing person in the state of Florida.
