Sophie Reeder
Sophie Reeder was 15 years old when she disappeared from Fort Lauderdale on May 19, 2017. Her family has spent eight years searching for answers and trying to understand what happened that night.
Surveillance footage showed Sophie walking past her home around 11 p.m., and again at 2 a.m. along Davie Boulevard. She left wearing a brown coat, a black dress, red Converse sneakers, and white headphones.
Her phone last pinged near the 1700 block of SW 11th Court, and detectives searched canals, wooded areas, and her home. Several belongings were left behind, including money and a burning candle, suggesting she planned to return.
Investigators reviewed her online activity and confirmed she had visited “sugar daddy” sites but never posted or communicated with anyone there. They also interviewed people she had been in contact with, including individuals tied to drugs and possible exploitation, but no suspects were identified.
Her family believes she may have met with foul play and continues to push for attention on her case. They describe Sophie as creative, caring, and deeply loved, and say they will not stop searching for her.
