Krishonda “Shonda” Leann Townsend<\/strong> was 19 years old when she went missing from Mineral Wells, Texas<\/a> in July 2010. She was last seen alive after attending Fourth of July celebrations with loved ones and taking a friend home shortly after midnight on July 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her sudden disappearance caused immediate worry for her family, who knew she would never willingly leave behind her young two-year-old son, Haiden. Local authorities were alerted when she failed to arrive home in nearby Perrin, Texas<\/a>, launching search efforts across Palo Pinto County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before leaving her friend’s residence on U.S. Highway 180 West, Shonda logged into Facebook from her friend’s computer and posted the status “I got this” at approximately 11:00 PM. She then sent a text message to her mother at 12:10 AM on July 5 stating she was driving home, but she never made it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 7, 2010, her 1997 gray and purple Toyota Camry was found abandoned and ransacked in a neighborhood in south Mineral Wells with its car stereo stolen. Her car keys were discovered tossed in a nearby empty lot, while her missing cell phone recorded incoming text activity until 2:00 AM before going completely dead.<\/p>\n\n\n
