Danielle Lopez
Danielle Lopez was 37 years old when she was last seen on April 13, 2024, walking alone on a remote dirt road inside the heavily wooded Wharton State Park area of New Jersey.
Earlier that morning, she had stopped at a Wawa convenience store on Route 72 in Vincentown at 9:11 a.m., where she purchased a coffee before heading deeper into the forest. She had told her family the day before that she planned to go camping in the park, a place she visited often.
Later that same day, a motorist’s GoPro camera captured Danielle walking by herself in the Penn State Forest, several miles from the Wawa. This was the last confirmed sighting of her.
The following weeks brought no answers, and on May 1, 2024, her blue 2008 two‑door Hyundai Accent (NJ plate H99SXT) was located near the same general area where she had last been seen. The discovery of her vehicle intensified concern, as it offered no clear indication of where she may have gone next.
Wharton State Park and the surrounding Pine Barrens are vast, rugged, and difficult terrain — more than 124,000 acres of dense forest, sandy roads, and remote stretches that complicate search efforts.
Despite extensive searches by law enforcement and volunteers, no confirmed leads have emerged. Danielle’s family describes her as loving, vibrant, and deeply caring, and they continue to seek answers about her disappearance.
Anyone with information about the disappearance of Danielle Lopez is urged to contact the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at 609‑882‑2000.
