Tammy Kingery
Tammy Sue Kingery (37) was last seen on September 20, 2014, after walking away from her home on Mealing Road in North Augusta, South Carolina. She lived there with her husband and their three children.
Tammy supposedly left for a walk that morning, but she never returned and has not been seen or heard from since.
Tammy was born on April 13, 1977, in northwest Indiana. She earned her nursing degree in 2001 and worked at the NHC Healthcare nursing home. She married Park Kingery in 1994, and the family later moved to South Carolina, settling in a wooded area of Edgefield County.
On the morning she disappeared, Tammy left home early for her 7:00 a.m. shift at the nursing home. A coworker later said she seemed unusually agitated and checked her blood pressure several times.
Tammy called her husband, who picked her up and brought her home so she could rest. At 10:00 a.m., he left with two of their children to run errands, leaving Tammy to take a nap.
When he returned, Tammy was gone. Inside the house he found a handwritten note that read, “Went for a walk, be back soon. Love you.” Her phone, purse, wallet, keys, and ID were all left behind. Concerned, he drove to her workplace to look for her, then reported her missing to the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office at 2:00 p.m.
Search teams, volunteers, dogs, and helicopters combed the area around the home throughout the weekend, but no trace of Tammy was found. Investigators noted that the house was locked when her husband returned, even though Tammy’s key was still inside her purse. The main door could only be locked from the outside.
At the time, Tammy was struggling with depression and had recently attempted suicide by mixing medication with alcohol. Investigators also recovered deleted text messages on her phone described as romantic in nature, but the two men involved were cleared and are not considered persons of interest.
Despite extensive searches and interviews, no evidence has surfaced to explain what happened to Tammy. Her case remains classified as endangered missing.
Tammy is described as 5’4″, 125 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She has a scar on her left wrist and scars on both sides of her upper chest. Her ears are pierced. She was last seen wearing a light‑colored shirt and dark pants.
